Plymouth is a large city in the South West of England. The city lies on the south coast of the county of Devon. Plymouth is also one of the largest ports on the south coast and is also known as a great shipbuilding city. The city has a population of just over two hundred and fifty thousand people making this the fifteenth largest city in England. The city has a bustling community and is popular with tourists visiting from all over the world.

Smeaton’s Tower is an unusual lighthouse set in a lovely area of the city, this is another attraction that is worth a look. There are lots of other museums, galleries and park to explore in the city, you really could spend weeks here and not get round all the attractions.
Plymouth can be a great place to use as a base while you explore the south coast. You are only a few miles from Cornwall here and there is some stunning coastline and great beaches in this county. Devon also has some great scenery, quaint little villages and interesting towns to look round. The city really is in an area with so much to offer visitors.
